Researchers from the University of Exeter presented strong evidence that microplastic transfers across the marine trophic chain from fish to mammals. The results showed that a high amount of marine organisms were contaminated with microplastic. The microplastics enter the larger mammas body either by direct ingestion or indirectly by tropic transfer from contaminated prey. These results are another warning sign that we need to take measures and reduce plastic use!
